The meditative, narrative photographs of Jari Koskinen traverse the in-betweens of documentary imagery, street photography and art.
The theme of the photographs is the beauty of prolonged endings (La bellezza dei finali prolungati).
These photographs are thematically connected to Koskinen’s first solo exhibition ‘Death, life, death’ at Järvenpää Art House in 1987 as well as to his first exhibition in Venice, ‘Viaggio nell’ Es’, at Galleria Segno Grafico in 1990. The aging of people and the city, where sentiments of departure, loneliness, agelessness, melancholy and beauty merge into a meaningful mix of colour and light.
