DOUBLE
- November 29 – December 4, 2016
- Meet the Artist: November 29, 5.30pm
My visual research utilizes mixed media techniques to develop drawn gestures, shapes, self- conceived patterns, and undefined spaces. Within this expansive process, my goal is to recognize the distinctive qualities of various medias and papers, and present them in ways that reinforce and challenge their behavior. This is simultaneously an act of experimentation, a process of comparison, and a questioning of relationships. My Fellowship at the Scuola Internazionale di Grafica has afforded me the space to continue my research, and in the exhibition Double, I expound upon a language of duality: opposites, asymmetrical multiples, high contrast, and cross-sectioning. Double can take on many and multiple forms, but must rely on counteraction to exist.
